CAST

Leanna Crenshaw, soprano, known for her “legendary high notes” (Classical Voice North Carolina), is quickly making a name for herself in her signature role of Die Königin der Nacht. Ms. Crenshaw has been praised for her “soaring voice” and “captivating, unaffected thespianism” (Voix des Arts), and acclaimed as “spectacular” (Greensboro.com/NewsandRecord) and a “delight to hear” (Classical Voice North Carolina).

Recent performances have included Rose Maybud in Ruddigore, LoLo in The Merry Widow, Yum-Yum in a Steampunk adaptation of The Mikado, Fire and The Nightingale in L’enfant et les sortilèges, Aline in The Sorcerer, Sophie in Werther, Addie Mills in The House Without a Christmas Tree, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, and Aveline Mortimer in Elizabeth Cree, and the titular soloist in Annelies, a concert work on the life of Anne Frank. Prior to Covid- 19 shut-downs, she portrayed such leading ladies as Die Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte, Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos, Nannetta in Falstaff, Madame Herz in The Impresario, as well as singing as soprano soloist in Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, Jack Stamp’s Four Maryland Songs, and Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras no 5.

Ms. Crenshaw recently moved back to her native Southern California, after completing the Artist Diploma in Voice at William Jewell College in Liberty, MO. She also holds her Master

of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees in Voice Performance, from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Biola University’s Conservatory of Music, respectively.
