Chun “Kelvin” Li (He/They), 28, is a bass-baritone from Hopkins, Minnesota, originally from Hong Kong. Kelvin had gone to Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, for his B.A. in vocal performance with a minor in business management. At Luther College, he sang in many choirs, including the nationally renowned Nordic Choir, and has been a featured soloist in the National Lutheran Choir based out of Minnesota. Kelvin has sung in multiple operatic productions including The Merry Widow, Cosi Fan Tutte, La Traviata, The Gondoliers, and Falstaff. While at Luther Kelvin studied under Eric Ashcraft, Carol Kreuscher, and Nicholas Shaneyfelt. Kelvin currently studies under Hugo Vera, and is pursuing his M.M. in vocal performance from California State University, Northridge. Kelvin has been awarded the Weston Noble Music Scholarship, Debora J. Madsen '73 Scholarship, Jenson Music Scholarship, and the Tanya Marie Enstad Scholarship. He also recently took 1st place in his division at the 2024 Cal-Western Regional NATS auditions. Kelvin has studied countertenor repertoire and will occasionally sing mezzo-soprano for the choirs he is in. In his free time, Kelvin likes to produce music, cook food, go to the gym, sing karaoke, and daydream.
