Peggi Stoffel

Peggi Stoffel is the director of instrumental music at Rancho Pico Junior High School in the William S. Hart Union High School District, located in Santa Clarita, CA, where she teaches
band, orchestra, and jazz band. Mrs. Stoffel grew up in Pasadena CA, and participated in school, youth, and honor music ensembles as a bassoonist. Mrs. Stoffel received her bachelor's degree in music from UCLA, specializing in music education and bassoon performance. She also earned a master’s degree from UCLA in education. Mrs. Stoffel has taught grades 4-8 instrumental music for 29 years in both Illinois and California.
In 2003, Mrs. Stoffel was a recipient of the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation’s “Most Influential Educator Award” and selected to be included in the 24th edition of “Who's Who of American Women”. Mrs. Stoffel was honored as Rancho Pico JHS “Teacher of the Year” in 2017, and in 2022 received the Williams S. Hart District’s “One Hart Award”. In 2023 she received the California Music Education Association’s Middle School Music Specialist Award.
She has been a guest clinician, adjudicator, and presenter throughout California and Illinois. As a guest conductor, Mrs. Stoffel has been honored to lead the SCSBOA Elementary Honor Orchestra and the Kern County Junior High School Honor Orchestra. Mrs. Stoffel consistently serves as a mentor teacher for Cal State Northridge.
Mrs. Stoffel enjoys playing bassoon in the Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra and spending time with her husband, three college-aged children, and two cats. Her greatest professional reward is getting to work with talented, dedicated, and hard-working young people who make the world a better place in everything they do!
